Do Clip in extentions cause hair loss?

Ok so about a month a go i bough clip in extentions and i love them! they dont tug on my hair too much so i thought they wud be okay, altough recently i have notice that i lose more hair now in thw shower or brushing my hair but i expected this so it was no big deal, any some of my friends have been scaring me and saying that " youll lose alot of hair!" and "over time you'll have bald patches in your hair!" and" it will stump you hair growth!' are these things true? i reuse to belive them because i love my hair and cant wait till it grows out! and my frind has been wearing extentions for about 2 years now and her hair is fine, i only plan to wear my extention till my hair reaches my dersired lenght ( wich i predict will be in about 2 years), so is this true? will my clip in hair extentions cause me to have bald patches in my hair? or thin out my hair alot? or will my hair take forever to grow now??? please help! i would really apprciate it! thank you! <3
