How do i know if my hymen is broken?

i was about to have sex with this guy and he went in partially, it hurt so i asked him to stop. After wards i went to the bathroom i realized that i was bleeding . . . Does this mean my hymen has been broken even though he didn't go in more than an inch?? Or is my hymen still intact????
