How long for cartilage piercing to heal completely?

The person above me is WRONG! I work at a tattoo & body piercing shop and I am a piercer, guns are HORRIBLE for piercings! Lobes aren't bad, but anything with cartlage they are bad for, they can completely break down your cartlage & leave you with cauliflower ear.! A hollow needle should always be used for cartlage. A hollow needle goes in and takes the skin out, a gun just loads up a piece of dull jewelery and shoots it in you, and does not take anything out, just seperates it. Honey please don't use a gun ever again =) , as far as cleaning it goes, strictly use salt water & salt water only! Take a dixie cup or shot glass, fill it half way with warm water, take regualar table salt (if sea salt is more in your diet use sea salt) sprinkle it into your hand & only grab one pinch of salt ( 3 or 4 salt grains is all you need) sprinkle it into your cup, stir with a q tip, soak your q tip in it, and clean w the q tip, 3 times a day, for 2-4 weeks.salt water is the most natural thing for your body and does great for piercings. Stay clear of peroxide alcohol or ointments those are horrible for piercings! And turning your jewelery is fine, but only when your cleaning it. Number one rule for a piercing, fingers are always dirty, don't touch! =)
